John Helix

“A heartbreaking lament accented by blooming harmonies and a ghostly delivery.”

—The Vinyl District

A piano player by blood whose primary influences are John Lennon and Elliott Smith, John Helix’s songs are driven by bright pianos, moody guitars, and layered, emotionally charged vocals.

His 2014 album I Fell in Love with a Memory was followed the next year by Chronic Happiness, an album which “bursts out with an impossibly beautiful, cascading piano roll . . . There is boldness in being this clear, this brazen about happiness; rock music simply does not view such emotions as commodity.” (Bearded Magazine)

A third full-length, Tune Out, Turn Off, Disconnect, was released in March 2016:

“There’s no doubt that John Helix is an artist. His songwriting and delivery reveal this within the first track on his latest album Tune Out, Turn Off, Disconnect . . . His sound is enticing and ominous, beautiful and inscrutable. The listener gets a true glimpse into what Helix is feeling and going through.” (This Is Not the Radio)

Since 2017, Helix has released seven full-length studio albums. His feline producer, Sgt. Pepper, keeps a furious writing and recording schedule.

John Helix's music can be found on all major digital and streaming platforms.
